Baltimore, 1850. A man gets a message from a colleague, inviting him to come and view a genuine ancient mummy. Arriving at his home, they are joined by two other colleagues who administer a good bit of poking, prodding, and electrification. The mummy comes alive and a number of farcical hijinks and tomfoolery takes place. deCosta and Lane have taken outlandish liberties in creating this comic opera, including a score which combines a theater organ and electro swing experience- which is fun, funny and based on one of the few humorous stories Edgar Allen Poe wrote.
